The Power of EYE EM

On October 1, Ziba Beauty will launch two new eye kits under the collection, EYE EM: The Essential Collection. The Eye Pencil Trio kit and the Gel Liner + Brush Trio kit, containing Ziba’s best-selling eye products, will retail for $29 and only available while stocks last. As with all Ziba Cosmetics, 10% of proceeds from the sale of the EYE EM kits will go toward the Empowerment through Artistry initiative to educate underprivileged women and children. Reflecting on this decision, Sumita Batra, CEO of Ziba Beauty mused: “As an artist, my vision is to make the world more beautiful for the wearer of my products. As a woman, my aspiration is to empower through artistry. So I found a way to serve both the artist and the woman in me.” The name of the collection was also coined to provoke and empower both the Ziba customer and the women Ziba is trying to help. ‘“I am’” is such a powerful proposition,” says Sumita. “When a person realizes that they themselves are responsible for generating their own happiness, they themselves have the power to change their life for the better, they themselves can be the change they wish to see in the world, it becomes a very powerful tool for positive change.” This is the power of “Eye Em”. Customers already familiar with Ziba Cosmetics will rejoice in the return of Mansha, the beloved eyeliner color, renamed The Eyeliner Violet to reflect its purple hue. Others will go gaga over the gel liner duo pots, which contain classic colors like black and brown, but also fun colors like electric blue and forest green. With such incredible offerings by a cosmetics brand that has a long track record of creating exceptional products at a fair price (these $29 kits are worth over $65 each!) and with compassion to boot, the EYE EM kits are a must-buy for the fall. Available at all Ziba Beauty studios and online on October 1, 2016 while stocks last.

BROW TREND ALERT: STATEMENT BROWS ARE IN!

If Paris Fashion week is any indicator – bold, beautiful statement brows are the “IT” accessory of the year! Eyebrows are poised to be the hottest trend in makeup, framing the face and accentuating the look of timeless, natural beauty. So, how do you acheive and maintain statement brows? First, statement brows are all about the right shape.  Thicker, natural-looking brows give a more youthful appearance to the face, so resist any temptation to go thin with your eyebrows.  If you have overshaped your brows, allow them to fill in for 2-3 weeks, and then reshape to a fuller appearance.   You also want to ensure you have a smooth, uniform, arching brow.  Whether its a rounded brow best for square faces, or a more angled brow to compliment a round or oval face, the idea is thickness that gently tapers towards the tail of the brow. Once you have achieved the ideal shape, a great brow finish is the key to maintaining a statement brow. Here are our top 3 recommendations from the brow artists at Ziba Beauty: Groom: Unruly brows happen, and just like the hair on your head, brow hair can be tamed too!  We recommend the Multi Task Brush as the ideal grooming tool.  Separate brow hair with the comb, groom your brows into place with the bristle brush, and blend brow powders or pencils with the angled tip brush. Define:  If you have naturally thin brow,  choose The Brow Trio to create a natural brow.  Brow powder paints the skin behind the brow, so it adds an instant dimension that is still natural looking.  If you are looking to fill in or correct your brow, The Brow Crayon may be your best choice to create fine, hairlike strokes that mimic your natural brow.  We love both by our Ziba Signature Collection. Hold: Once you have groomed and defined your brows, to keep them in place all day, you need hold.  The Finish Wax is a soft wax pencil that keeps brows in place all day without being sticky or stiff. These three easy steps will gaurantee statement brows that stop traffic. Enjoy!!

DRAW THE LINE: EYELINER TECHNIQUES FOR YOUR EYE SHAPE

This summer, the look of liner is heating up with the temperatures! The colors are bold and your imagination is the limit when it comes to eyeliner trends. Regardless of the look you want to rock, it’s always good to start with the basics. And for eyes, it’s how to maximize the beauty of your eyes based on their shape. Here are a few tips to try: 1. Round Eyes Zoey Deschanel’s round eyes are a stunning feature. Though her look is often mod-inspired, to get the most out of a round eye shape, it’s best to accentuate the outside corner of your lash line to make your eyes appear longer. Starting with the upper lash line, draw a thin line from the inner corner that becomes thicker as you approach the outer corner of the eye. To get her look, line and smudge the lower lash line, again focusing the color towards the outer corner of the eye, to lengthen the appearance of the eye. photo credit:  sylonica.com 2. Hooded Eyes Blake Lively calls the best attention to her eyes with heavier liner on top, and lighter eyeliner on the bottom. To get her look, tilt your head back for an easier angle while looking in the mirror and line the upper lashes fully. For hooded eyes, though the upper lashes are enhanced, the lashes are also a key accessory. The longer the better! photo credit: wallerz.com 3. Close Set Eyes For eyes that sit closely together, you want to apply makeup in a way that makes the eyes appear longer and farther apart. To achieve this, it’s all about adding color to the outer half of the lashes. Look directly into a mirror, and starting from the center of your pupil, line the lash line in an increasingly thicker line towards the outer corner of the eye. photo credit:  disney-wikia.com 4. Wide Set Eyes Think color first, for this beautiful eye shape. Brown, bronze and neutrals are excellent choices. Apply eyeliner to the top and bottom lash lines and blend. Avoid extending the line past the outer corner, to keep eyes more balanced and closer set. photo credit:  dailyhilt.com Have any tips you would like to share on eye shape?  We would love to know!
