Redefining authenticity and challenging modern-day influencer status.
The future is in good hands. Say goodbye to the tired ways in which we measure influence and hello to our Ziba Beauty New Age Social Influencers, a group we plan on growing for the months to come.
There’s an undeniable power to social media. Numbers of followers and high engagement rates have created a new type of influencer celebrity that is often rewarded either monetarily or with goods by brands hoping to blend their agenda with an influencers’ social community. These social platforms with carefully curated posts of globetrotting, dining at the hippest spots, and wearing the latest fashions serve as a vehicle through which we escape day-to-day life. They broaden our horizons and paint a world seemingly bigger (and better) than our own.
But in the spirit of authenticity (which is a word that’s been tossed around heavily in the digital scape and that made its way into serving as a topic of conversation at Ziba Beauty headquarters), we have to admit that tapping into the audiences of social media influencers is something we’ve tested as well. Like many brands, we’ve tested how social media influencers could help us spread our brand mission. And although it’s not completely off the table for us to continue this type of digital and widespread connection, we also find ourselves exploring.
Ziba Beauty, like many of you, is seeking a different way in which it can authentically communicate its deeper purpose. Although we found our purpose many years ago when we introduced The Art of Threading to the U.S. back in 1988, we find ourselves asking: What’s next? How can we connect more authentically to our community? How can we show up the best version of our brand? And how can we communicate our message more effectively to not just a bigger audience, but to an audience whose values align with ours?
Surprisingly, we found the answers in our very own Ziba Beauty studios.
Sitting in our studio lobby’s waiting to get serviced by their favorite eyebrow threading artists were Candice, Tatiana, and Poonam and Priyanka, all longtime Ziba Beauty clients and amazing individuals who are finding unique ways to influence their communities, locally and digitally speaking.
Enter Ziba Beauty’s New Age Social Influencers
One thing is for sure, we plan on adding something unique to your lives, and in what will be the first class of Ziba Beauty New Age Social Influencers, each of the chosen individuals represents a different aspect of that authenticity we seek to highlight. In the case of Candice, she’s a 24-year-old focused on influencing her local community beginning with friends and family. Tatiana is a young Latina who is following her various passions and on her way to becoming a social media influencer by industry standards. Then there’s Poonam and Priyanka, a set of dancer twins who are riding the wave of influencer celebrity status and hoping to continue to grow their massive online community.
Regardless of the size of their social following (they weren’t asked about it for the purpose of making our list), these individuals reflect a change we want to see in the world and give us the opportunity to share authenticity converting into true influence.
For this series, we’ll be sharing one new story per month.
First up, meet Candice. This is her story of influence.
