I love the smell of a year. It invites possibility, adventure, the chance for do overs or just plain new experiences. I try every so often to sit with a steaming cup of green tea, and reflect on the lessons from the previous year. Personally, 2016 was one of the toughest I had faced with the loss of a loved one. But it also taught me what to be grateful for, and pushed me to have Ziba do more than just service eyebrows. As CEO, making money has never been a priority for our brand. My constant push is to create an experience for our clients, and to also contribute in some small ways to the world.
I ask myself several questions: Did we leave the world a bit better than we found it? What lessons can I learn from the year? What more can I do? These simple questions often give me the passion and inspiration to push our company towards doing more than just business. Money comes and goes, but people’s memories and experiences of you can last for a very long time,
So 2017 will be the year we do more than us just be a beauty brand, it will be the year we create a greater impact.
Yours always, Sumita
