POSITION SUMMARY

Under the leadership of the Regional Operations Manager, the Studio Manager oversees all operational training, scheduling, relationship building with peers, team members, service and retail goals. The Studio Manager position ensures profitable studio operations including high service standards, product sales, stock levels, expense management, and staffing development along with goal achievement, and client satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible and accountable for meeting studio sales plans (monthly, quarterly and yearly
  • Organize all store operations and allocates responsibilities to staff members.
  • Prepares and controls studio budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency. Monitors and assesses studio productivity by ensuring proper goal setting, effective scheduling, staff meetings, and direct regular communications are in place.
  • Holds Sales Associates and Beauty Artists accountable for the sales and operational results of the assigned studio and ensures they are promoting a sales-driven environment.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and articulate retail and service. performance to budget, and recommend and ensure successful implementation of an action plan to increase performance
  • Accountable for business development and studio sales growth through the identification of events participation and promotional opportunities
  • Accountable for the monthly auditing of their assigned studio including operational, sales, staff and facilities management reviews. (Floor walk, scheduling, inventory management)
  • Oversees and approves staff activities for Sales Associates and Beauty Artists.
  • Supports and assists as needed the coaching, training, and development of Sales Associates and Beauty Artists.
  • Accountable for ensuring that Sales Associates and Beauty Artists execute and implement all company policies ensuring compliance with related operational procedures. (Including wage and hour, salary budget, meal and break compliance, inventory control, facilities requirements, quality control, and customer services.)
  • Oversees the implementation and compliance of “Our Promise” and such are delivered with each customer interaction.
  • Motivates and inspires the studio team.
  • Creates and maintains schedules reflecting the operational needs.
  • Uphold and enforce merchandising standards inclusive of planogram, visual and esthetic requirements.
  • Uphold studio environments that are consistent with the Ziba Brand. This includes the appearance of the studio, cleanliness, staff appearance and merchandising

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The Studio Manager reports to the Regional Operations Manager for operational needs and consults with Sales and Education Manager for sales and product needs. The studio level staff reports directly to the Studio Manager. The Studio Manager is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned so long as such action does not deviate from established company policy and is consistent with sound judgment. This authority includes providing guidelines, counsel, and direction to reporting employees, as necessary. Makes decisions on hiring, dismissing, promoting, demoting or disciplining employees in conjunction with Regional Operations Manager. Maintain close communication with Human Resources to discuss performance evaluations, performance issues, recommendations, promotions, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Requires High School Diploma or equivalent; significant work experience may substitute for academic achievement. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in studio management or studio management training program. Experience within the Beauty and Service Industry preferred. Requires strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills, proficiency with MS Office Excel and preferably BOOKER POS system. LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance required. State Board of Cosmetology license preferred but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Maintains credibility and is a reliable team member that demonstrates determination in their contribution to achieving company goals. The incumbent is comfortable in dealing with senior executives. The Beauty Artist is an empathic communicator, able to see things from another person’s point of view. Must be trained in The Art of Threading® by Ziba Beauty, know how to thread and shape eyebrows, understands the facial structure, skin condition, and able to recommend what brow shape would look best for different types of face shapes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Beauty Artist has the responsibility of building retail sales, relationship building/repeat clientele, event and training requirements.
  • Esthetician must be experienced or be willing to be trained in The Art of Threading®, the Art of Mehndi and waxing, as required in line with State Board standards and regulations, as well as assigned standards set by Ziba Beauty.
  • The Esthetician/Beauty Artist administers professional facials, waxing services/licensed treatment to the Ziba Beauty clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  9. Beauty Artists are required to have Open Availability (ability to work any shift on any given day including weekends and holidays) in order to accommodate customer service focused work and service schedule.
  10. Must have reliable transportation and open travel to other locations.
  11. Speak, Read and Write in Basic English and be able to communicate effectively with our staff and customers.
  12. Must uphold all personal appearance standards including ensuring that they are well Groomed, wear makeup (eye makeup, blush, lipstick, mascara, hair, foundation).
  13. Must wear Ziba Beauty approved attire (all black, lint-free, and wrinkle-free), including closed-toed shoes.

  4. Responsible for the upkeep of the treatment room, up to the State Board Standards.
  5. Must be responsible for soiled linens for facials.
  6. Must customize their waxing strips.
Mehndi Artists:
  1. Must have reliable transportation.
  2. Must maintain a portfolio of Mehndi Art and present it at the time of the interview.
  3. Must have Bridal Henna experience and successful completion of Ziba Beauty Academy.
  4. Must be able to travel any studios 30-40 mile radius from home studio

Qualifications:

1 Year minimum experience in Threading or successful competition of Ziba Beauty Academy.
